AYSO Region 418 Travel Soccer Programs
AYSO418 Chicago Northwind SC
AYSO Region 418 is proud to offer our players looking for a more competitive experience the opportunity to tryout for our Chicago Northwind Soccer Club. Northwind SC fields teams from U7 to U19, and provides an opportunity for participants to play travel soccer at the highest level commensurate with their individual ability, potential, and interest. Northwind SC embraces AYSO's Six Philosophies:
Everyone Plays, Balanced Teams, Open Registration, Positive Coaching, Good Sportsmanship and Player Development.
Northwind teams play in competitive leagues not affiliated with AYSO. The girls' teams compete in the Illinois Women's Soccer League (IWSL). Boys' teams compete in the Young Sportsmen's Soccer League (YSSL). Northwind employs professional trainers to coach the Northwind teams. Participation in the Core Program is optional for Northwind players.

AYSO418 EXTRA
For players seeking additional soccer opportunities within an AYSO league, Region 418 is proud to offer AYSO EXTRA. This program is an AYSO inter-regional soccer program that allows our players to represent our region in games with teams from other AYSO regions in the greater Chicago area. EXTRA offers progressive player development, designed for players who have the interest, skills and abilities that want to enhance their experience and individual growth through soccer, within the National AYSO Program. AYSO EXTRA players must be concurrently registered and participating in the AYSO Region 418 Core Program to be eligible to participate in EXTRA. Placement on an EXTRA team is by invitation only. Tryouts for this program are in May for the following Fall-Spring membership year, in combination with our Northwind tryouts. National Games
Every two years AYSO hosts The AYSO National Games. Eligibility to represent your region is based on a national team lottery system. The National Games is an opportunity to bring together different regions and sections to share in the diverse soccer culture of the AYSO family. This occasion focuses on sportsmanship, team spirit and making new friends through the activities and events that are offered during this week-long event. Placement on a National Games team is by invitation only. Tryouts have concluded for the 2019 AYSO National Games and all roster spots have been filled. See you in two years!
