Coach Certification Classes
The following instructions will help you get the certifications you need so you can be eligible to coach our wonderful kids of the AYSO 418 Chicago Lakefront region! Each certification will give you insight on ways to maintain a fun, safe and positive experience for players, adults, and our AYSO Lakefront community.
Safe Haven Instructions (Certify online at your convenience!)
You need your AYSO ID# to get your Safe Haven Certification. Here is how you view your number:
1. Log onto www.eAYSO.org with your same e-mail and password that you did for registration.
2. Click on “View coach team” from the selection under “Those who have already volunteered”.
3. Click on “Click Here” under the “Certification” column.
4. Now you can see your AYSO ID in the upper right hand corner AND your current list of credentials. If “SAFE HAVEN” is listed under your Certification Description, then you are done. If not, proceed to Step #5.
5. Type in/or click on the following link: http://www.aysotraining.org/C001.html
6. Enter your eAYSO ID# (from Step 4) and your last name.
7. Complete the Safe Haven Course from your computer. When complete, your certification will be automatically updated and you will be eligible to coach! Congratulations and Thank-you for volunteering!
Age-Appropriate Field Certification (U8 and up; online or field certification accepted for U6)
All coaches must be certified for the age group that they plan to coach for the 2010/2011 season. Why? These courses build confidence, communicate expectation and reinforce “Kid Zone” values that help all of us adults make the most of soccer for all of our 3,000 kids in the 418! We help you know the soccer you need to know, understand the physiology and psychology of the age group you will be coaching, and teaching you great games to help everyone learn soccer skills and have fun on the pitch.
Here is what you need to do to register for your Field Certification:
1. Log onto www.eAYSO.org
2. Click on “Enroll to take a class”
3. Search by State = IL, and Course = scroll to course needed
4. Click the “SEARCH” button.
5. Click on the course that works for you.
6. When you complete the course, we will update your certification and you will be ready to COACH!
U6 - How to obtain your certification online:
1. Now that you know what your AYSO ID# from Safe Haven Instructions steps 1-4 above, you can go directly http://www.aysotraining.org
2. Click on “Course C002 - U-6 Coach”
3. Login with your AYSO ID# and Last Name
4. Complete the U6 Coach Course from your computer. When complete, your certification will be automatically updated.

U6 ~ online and in field, more info coming soon!
U8 ~ 5:30pm-7:30pm at Margate Park on Tues (8/17), Wed (8/18), or Mon (8/23)
U10 ~ 5:00pm-8:00pm at Margate Park on Wed (8/25) or Mon (8/30)
U12 ~ 12:30pm-5:30pm at Margate Park on Sun (8/22)
U14 ~ 2-day course in Hinsdale on Sat & Sun (8/28 & 8/29)
Remember: You must sign-up for the courses online to reserve your spot in class.
Wear comfortable clothing and shoes, kicking soccer balls is part of the fun!
