AYSO Master Coaching Program Spring 2010

Coaches – A Great Opportunity to Improve Your
Coaching Skills and Your Players' Skills!

This Spring, AYSO 418 is bringing back Master Coaching. Bring your team and work with Chicago Fire Camps & Training to help improve yours and your players’ soccer skills – both at the same time!

Here’s how it works: Every Wednesday through Friday, we will have 2 Chicago Fire Camps & Training trainers at Field 2 from 4:30 to 6:30. Each trainer will take up to 2 teams, and their coaches, and work with them MLS Camp Curriculum to teach foot skills. You as coaches will be active participants in teaching the players, and will work alongside these Master Coaches. Each team must have its coach or assistant coach present at the practice. This can be instead of your regular practice, or in addition to it – you choose. All coaches have the age-appropriate curriculum available to them, and this progression will be followed week to week.

To view the curriculums online, visit our Practice Curriculum page for instructions.

Cost: Free!

How to Sign Up: Please click on an available time-slot below to submit your team for the clinic. Subject to the following, time-slots are first come, first served. If all time-slots are filled and your team has not yet attended a clinic, please email Jeric Johnson, Coach Administrator. The Coach Administrator will allocate, and reserves the right to re-allocate, time-slots in accordance with the following:

(1) A team may sign up in advance for only one time-slot for the entire Fall session of the clinics, subject to (3) below;
(2) Only a team in the division designated for the particular time-slot may reserve that time-slot, subject to (3) below;
(3) For any given week, if any time-slots remain unassigned on Sunday at the beginning of that week, those unassigned time-slots will become open to any and all teams, regardless of division or whether that team has already signed up for, or participated in, a clinic.

Weather Policy: A clinic may be canceled by the region for weather or field conditions, and if so you will be notified prior to your clinic. Cancellations typically do not occur prior to the day of the training, and typically no later than a couple of hours prior to the scheduled clinic time. In addition, as the team's coach, you have the discretion to cancel your reserved clinic if you feel that the weather conditions are unsuitable for your team, although you must notify the Chicago Fire Camps trainer. Finally, when at the clinic, the coach and/or the Chicago Fire Camps trainer MUST stop training upon any sighting of lightning/thunder, and training may not resume until 30 MINUTES after the last sighting of lightning/thunder. The over-riding concern and priority is the health and safety of our players, and when in doubt it is best to cancel.

If there are any questions, please contact our Chicago Fire Camps & Training coordinator, Skye Mackenzie, at skye.mackenzie@nasc.com.
