The primary youth soccer program offered by AYSO Region 418 includes both a Fall & Spring season and is offered to boys and girls beginning at age 4. Games are played on Saturdays at the Chicago lakefront fields between Lawrence and Foster. Typically 9-10 games are played each season and teams generally hold one practice per week. Divisions U10 and up have a year-end tournament in the spring.
AYSO offers a Winter Indoor Program that has been evolving over the last few years. The program is held on Saturdays beginning in January at Chicago Indoor Soccer (3900 S. Ashland Ave), a fantastic purpose-built indoor soccer facility. Winter Indoor players must be registered participants in the primary program.
Does your player have a passion for the game of soccer? Northwind Soccer Club has teams in the U9 to U14 divisions, with the goal to provide an opportunity for participants to play travel soccer at the highest level commensurate with their individual ability, potential, and interest. Northwind employs professional trainers as coaches and follows the same values and principles as the primary AYSO program. Northwind players must also be registered participants in the primary program.
AYSO VIP Program provides a quality soccer experience for children whose physical or mental disabilities make it difficult to successfully participate on mainstream teams. We recognize that everyone needs to feel a sense of belonging and acceptance. The VIP program offers that acceptance and carries the philosophy of "Everyone Plays®" to new heights - giving everyone a chance to play.
AYSO EXTRA is a travel soccer program providing progressive player development, designed for players who have the interest, skills and abilities and want to enhance their experience and individual growth through soccer while retaining the spirit of and organization membership in AYSO.
Every even numbered year AYSO hosts The National Games; eligibility to represent your region is based on a national team lottery system. The National Games is an opportunity to bring together different regions and sections to share in the diverse soccer culture of the AYSO family. This occasion focuses on sportsmanship, team spirit and making new friends through the activities and events that are offered during this weeklong event.
Although our region does not offer or endorse any summer programs, we are happy to tell you about some of the camps offered in the Chicago area.
