NISL Coordinator: All boys teams need to register all players through the Northern Illinois Soccer League website. All information and guidance for this will be the task of this coordinator. Heavy load at time of registration (June/July timeframe) and minimal requirements the rest of the year. All aspects of helping each boys team get registered (gathering pics, medical forms, birth certificates) for each team. You will be a guide for each team, but the more you can train the team to handle this, the less your role.
IWSL Coordinator: All girls teams need to register all players through the Illinois Women’s Soccer League website. All information and guidance for this will be the task of this coordinator. Heavy load at time of registration (June/July timeframe) and minimal requirements the rest of the year. All aspects of helping each girls team get registered (gathering pics, medical forms, birth certificates) for each team. You will be a guide for each team, but the more you can train the team to handle this, the less your role.
Registration manager: We expect to have 600 kids come and tryout for our Northwind teams this summer, and we need help with the registration process. Ideal candidate would have strong Excel experience, and be well organized. Looking for help from roughly April through the Northwind enrollment meeting, which should be mid-June. Looking for someone with a laptop who could be at the fields on all tryout days, and help gather the list of pre-registered players, and the walk-up variety as well.
Coach/Assistant Coach: Individuals involved in the direction, instruction and training of our Northwind players. Works with the trainers on tactic, technique and individual skill development. Competitive player experience preferred for head coach. Assistant coach we recommend some soccer knowledge and an ability to nurture and support our players in their passion for soccer.
Scheduler: Needed is a creative person to solve the weekly puzzle of fitting 13 Northwind teams onto 2 turf fields within the 5 hours of competition time available. Each team has varied home/away schedules and each level targets a specific field size. If after reading this you are curious or intrigued, then step up and help us with our weekly logistics puzzle!
Equipment Manager: When it comes to game time, we all need a back-up plan. Each U09, U10, and U11 team must have a family that will maintain a back-up set of goals if/when there is a field change for our home games. All that is needed is a volunteer with an SUV and some space left in their garage. Working with the scheduler, you will know in advance when to bring the back-up goals to the field.
Field Permits: No, the fields are not free. But the city does like us since we helped them build the new turf fields. Practice schedules, game schedules, special clinics, fall darkness etc. lead to tweaking the time frames we need our fields. We need someone who can arrange and communicate these requests to the Park District for both Northwind and AYSO.
Uniforms Manager: When rosters are assigned, uniforms must be ordered while tracking everyone's jersey number, size, and payment. Additional duties include tracking distribution and designing accessories for Northwind players and supporters.
To all parents, we ask our kids to step up and do their best. With these volunteer positions above we can show them how we step up and help on behalf of our kids and our Northwind community. Please e-mail your coach today with the volunteer spot you are most comfortable with.
