Referee Scheduling & Laws Of The Game & Other Links

Region 418 permits referees to self-assign for most games using the web site RefScheduer. Upon completion of your first referee class, sign-up for a RefScheduler account by using the link above. Once at the site, select AYSO, Section 6, Area D, Region 418. Then, click on New Referee Sign-Up, and enter in your information. After the account request has been approved, your account will be activated and you may sign up for games at the level for which you are certified (AYSO Certifications:  U08 Official (U08 games); Regional Referee (U10 games); Intermediate Referee (U12 games); Advanced Referee (U14 games); National Referee (U16 - U18 games)). Regional Referees may signup to ref U12 games upon approval.

AYSO web site for all AYSO volunteers and includes all AYSO National Rules and Regulations as well as referee publications, lesson plans, instructor information, tests, and general information. In addition, if you go to, you’ll find more than two dozen referee workshop titles from recent Section meetings. Section 6 EXPO (Section meeting) is held annually, usually in February and often in the Chicago area.

This is a fun website to use to refresh your Law memory or ask questions about refereeing. Note: This is not an official AYSO or USSF website but the information presented here is usually very useful.

This is the Federation International de Football Association (FIFA) website. FIFA is the international governing body of soccer. On the bottom of the page, there are quick links for the Laws of the Game and Refereeing. The former includes Interpretation of the Laws of the Game and Guidelines for Referees, and the latter has Referee Teaching Material. A quick link to the current Laws of the Game is: Laws of the Game (IFAB).  AYSO follows the official Laws of the Games, with permitted adjustments for youth play.

This is the United States Soccer Federation (USSF) web site. Towards the bottom of the site is a link to the Referee Program, which includes links to the current Laws of the Game and well as on-line modules discussing each individual Law.  AYSO is a member of USSF, which is the national governing body for soccer in the USA.


This website contains hundreds and hundreds of videos, including situations broken down by the U.S. Soccer’s Referee Department. .
